

Valluvar Kottam is built in memory of the great Poet Thiruvalluvar
and has a huge auditorium. It was established in 1976. It is located
at the junction of Kodambakkam High Road and Village Road.
Valluvar Kottam is open daily from 9 am to 6 pm and closed on
Fridays and National holidays. A life-size statue of the poet Thiruvalluvar who wrote 'Thirukkural' is seen in the shrine. The
shrine is a replica of the temple chariot of Thiruvarur.

Valluvar Kottam is a big auditorium which can seat 4000 people. All
133 chapters of the Thirukkural are engrossed on the stone on the
corridors on either side.
