Mahabalipuram is a small town in Kancheepuram district of Tamil Nadu. It is also known as Mammallapuram. It is an old port city. It has been named after the Pallava king Mamalla.

It was designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1984 for its stunning range of monuments.

Mahabalipuram is one of the beautiful places in Tamilnadu. The rock cut temples and Mandapams in Mahabalipuram is worth seeing.
