Indian music maestro AR Rahman created history on Sunday night as he became the first Indian to win the prestigious Golden Globe awards.
Rahman won for the Best Original Music Score for the movie Slumdog Millionaire.
Slumdog Millionaire was directed by British director Danny Boyle and written by Simon Beaufoy.
The film, shot and set in India, follows a young man from the slums of Mumbai who appears on a game show and exceeds people's expectations, raising the suspicions of the game show host and law enforcement.
Slumdog Millionaire is based on a novel by Indian diplomat Vikash Swarup and stars Bollywood actors Anil Kapoor and Irrfan Khan in lead among others.
Rahman bagged the Golden Globe for his song âJai Hoâ, penned by lyricist Gulzar.
