Baana Kaathadi starring Prasanna, Adharva and Samantha in the lead roles is a realistic entertainer. The film is set in the slums of Teynampet. Karunaas, Mounica and Manobala are the others in the cast.

Adharva, son of Tamil actor Murali, is making his debut in this movie. Samantha plays the role of his love interest. Prasanna plays another major role, while Karunaas takes care of the comedy in the film. A major portion of the film is said to have been shot at the International Kites Festival of Gujarat.

Baana Kaathadi is about young kite flier's life and their environment. Adharva plays the role of an urban youth in the lower income group, who considers kite flying as his life itself.

The film's music is composed by Yuvan Shakar Raja. The audio release of the film took place at Sathyam Cinemas in Chennai on April 30th. The movie has 5 songs.

The film is all set to release by July end.
