India's first lunar mission satelite Chandrayaan-1 entered the lunar orbit successfully. Around Indian Standard Time 5:00pm Chandrayaan-1 entered to a lunar elliptical orbit of 7,500km x 500km.
It was launched from Sriharikota on October 22. Before entering the lunar orbit Chandrayaan traveled almost 4 lakh kilometers.
It is a milestone in India's space research programs.
Now ISRO will slowly reduce the altitude and finally move Chandrayaan to an orbit just 100km above moon's surface.
Around November 15th Chandrayaan-1 would eject Moon Impact Probe with Indian flag to moon's surface to study about dropping an object to moon and which will help ISRO to carry out future Chandrayaan missions including taking a human to moon.
