Computer mouse turns 40

On December 09 of 1968 Computer scientist Douglas Engelbart showcased world's first computer mouse at the Fall Joint Computer Conference in San Francisco, California and still billions of computer users across the world use the same technology to communicate with their personal computers and laptops.
The first mouse that Dr Engelbart used in the demo was made of wood and had one button.
In last 40 years computer world has witnessed thousands of new technologies and devices still we continue to use mouse as our primary pointing device to communicate with PC. Now there are many varients like wired and wireless, mechanical and optical, two button and three button, with and without scroll wheel etc..
World's largest computer mouse manufacturer Logitech yesterday announced shipping of it's billionth (100 crore) computer mouse. Each day Logitech makes 3,76,000 mice and each month the company churns out 7.8 million mice.
