Dhanush and Tamanna were a successful pair in the last year super hit film 'Padikathavan'. The same pair is again coming together in the forthcoming movie Venghai, under the same banner Vijaya Productions.

Venghai is directed by Hari of Thamira Bharani fame. The film is produced by B. Bharathi Reddy and presented by Mr. B.Venkatrama Reddy. Music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad who gave superhit songs in Surya's 'Singham'. Cinematography is by Vetri.

Vivek, Raj Kiran, Kalabhavan Mani, Ganja Karupu, Urvasi, Ishwarya, Paravai Muniamma, Charlie, and Ponnambalam are in the supporting cast.

Venghai is expected to be an action masala mass entertainer. The film's story is believed to be of rural background, based on Sivagangai district. Dhanush plays the role of a villager and Tamanna, his love interest, appears as village belle.

The film started its shooting at Karaikudi in November 2010 and is expected to be released late in 2011.
