Israeli war planes continued bombing Gaza on Sunday and the total death toll rises to 228 and more than 700 injured.
In an unprecedented waves of air strikes on Saturday and Sunday morning Israeli war planes bombed dozens of security offices and other major Hamas infrastructure facilities.
Some centers were repeatedly hit by jets which increased the number of causalities. Most of those killed were security men but many civilians also killed during this massive air strikes by Israeli army in recent history.
U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on Saturday blamed Hamas for breaking a cease-fire with Israel.
Ismail Haniyeh, a senior political leader of Hamas and former Prime Minister of the Palestinian National Authority said on Saturday "awful massacres against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip."
"The Palestinian people have never witnessed an awful and ugly massacre like this," said Haneya in a statement he made to the Gaza-based Hamas television station.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas strongly condemned Israeli massive air strike and asked the Israeli government to stop the attack immediately and urged for international interference to stop the Israeli aggression.
The Arab League will hold an emergency summit in Doha on January 2 to discuss the latest Israeli-Palestinian violence in the Gaza Strip.
