R Madhavan and Vidya Balan were the stars in Airtel Advertisement portraying their mischievous love affair. The romance between the two had its share of audience. It appealed more to older generation as Vidya Balan looked matured. Realizing this, Airtel wanted a young face opposite Madhavan to bring youth to campaign. The beautiful Genelia D'Souza will now take up the role of leading lady.

Australia

Genelia these days seems to be the brand ambassador of Australia. After recent attacks on Indian students she finds Melbourne a safe haven and she likes shooting in the exotic locales in Australian. On the attacks made on Indians, she says, "It is sad that some violent incidents have happened in Australia and Indians have been targeted. But I feel very safe. I have been riding on the trams and enjoying the multi-cultural cuisine on offer."

The attractive actress is shooting in Melbourne for her film Orange.

Telugu film

Miss D'Souza will return to Telugu this year. The actress has given positive gesture for a film to be produced by Sravanthi Ravi Kishore, in which Ram act as the male lead. The project will go on floors only after Ram completes film Rama Rama Krishna Krishna. This will be a reunion as he will act with Genny, two years after Ready, which was a hit. Surendar Reddy is the director. He has a film in hand with Mahesh Babu in the lead.

Uthamaputhiran
Genelia is presently acting in a Tamil film titled Uthamaputhiran, a remake of Ready opposite Dhanush.
