National Award Winning lyricist Pa.Vijay’s is debuting as hero in the movie Gnabagangal, which is all set to release on July 3. Pa. Vijay pairs Sridevika in this movie.

According to Vijay, the story of Gnabagangal is from a real life incident. “When I came to Chennai aspiring to write lyrics, my room mate Kathiravan, fell in love with a girl. Gnabagangal revolves around Kathiravan, who fell in love with his neighbour Meera.

Meera went on to break his heart by getting married to someone else. Kathiravan returned to his hometown and died a broken man. The basic plot of the film is based on this real life incident.” The movie is made from the events written in Kathiravan's diary, which Pa.Vijay got from his native place.

Gnabagangal is a directorial venture of Jeevan and will be released on July 3rd all over the world not only in Tamil, but also in Korean as well. The film’s producer and actor Pa Vijay believes his film has a market abroad as well, especially in Korea, where both romance and sentiment are the most favoured genres.

Pa. Vijay, who has written over 2000 songs, including a National award-winning song as the hero; he has also written the story and screenplay for the film.

There are 100 characters in the film that are doing significant roles. One of the songs of this film was written in 250 words using the first alphabet Aa.
