63 percent of United States internet users used Google for searching the web in August as per the data released by Comscore Inc, an internet marketing research company. In July 08 it was 61.9%, a 1.1 percent increase in month to month basis.
In August, 11.7 billion core searches were conducted in United States and out of that 7.27 billion processed through Google sites.
Yahoo is in the second position with 19.6% searches in August against 20.5% in July, a 0.9% drop. Microsoft sites are in the third position with 8.3% (0.6% drop from July). Ask Network (4.8%) in the fourth position and AOL in the fifth position (4.3%), both improved it's search count in August marginally.
In the expanded search data Google stands with 10.15 billion searches out of 17.27 billion searches conducted totally in the month of August. Yahoo Sites processed 2.42 billion expanded searches in August.
