As economic crisis creates uncertainty in United States and Europe, think tanks around the world describe a new world with India and China as major powers.
Asian Development Bank (ADB) Managing Directory Rajat Nag last week said that India's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) would become 35 trillion by 2040 compared to 1 trillion now. He also said by that time India would become second largest economy in the world, after China.
Even economists in the west agree that golden years for US and European economies are coming to an end.
Thats why United States and European countries are now even ready to co-operate with India in high end technologies like nuclear energy. After realising India's potential they are now looking for bigger trade opportunities with India.
In a recent speech a senior republican leader Dick Lugar said "American efforts to shape the world are unlikely to succeed fully without the cooperation of India". So he told Republican nominee John McCain and his Democratic rival Barack Obama to build a foreign policy with this in mind.
India's growing middle class is soon going to surpass entire population of many developed countries. Even now as per Purchasing power parity India's GDP is at 4th place at around 4 trillion, well above all European nations.
