Indira Vizha is a much awaited masala movie by Rajeswar who has earlier given films like Idhayathai Thamarai, Amaran and Seevallaperi Pandi. It stars Namitha and Srikanth in the lead.

Director Rajeshwar is planning to release the film as Namitha's movie, thus giving her prominent position in posters, trailers and promotional. Indra Vizha stars Sreekanth, Namitha and newcomer Hema Malini and has been in news for high octane glamour.

The story revolves around 3 main characters namely, Santhosh Srinivasan played by Srikanth, Kamini by Namitha and Savithri by Hema Malini. The film starts with the pleasant life of a couple played by Srikanth and Hema Malini.

Srikanth is the creative head of a Channel in the film and Namitha buys it to become the channels owner. Namitha had relationship with Srikanth in the past.

The film is about how the beautiful life of Sreekanth and Hemamalini undergoes a crimson change when the dame, Kamini played by Namitha makes an unforeseen entry.

The film has Namitha in one of her sexiest roles in her career. She also faces stiff competition from newcomer Hema Malini. Hema Malini is also acting in the sequel to Naan Avan illai.

The film went on the floors on February 2008; its progress was haltered by the death of actor Raghuvaran. Raghuvaran was replaced by Nasser.

The audio release of the film was held in Chennai on Feb 25th 2009.

The promotion of this film is innovative. Namitha sends two lakh emails to her fans requesting them to watch the film in theatres.

Yadish sets music to the lyrics penned by Vairamuthu. The film is produced by Ashok K Kothvani.
