Internet Explorer loosing market share

As per the browser usage data released by Net Applications IE is loosing it's market share to rivals like Firefox, Safari and Chrome.
Internet Explorer lost more than 1.5 points in December and other browsers gained from this drop.
In 2008 IE surrendered 7.9 percent to other browsers and now its market share is 68.15%, lowest since 1999.
Firefox gained 4.5 points in 2008 and ended with a market share of 21.34%.
Apple's Safari gained 2.4 points in 2008 and has a market share of 7.93%.
Google's Chrome, which was released 3 months back crossed 1 percent mark in December with a popularity of 1.04%.
