Vijay and Mohanlal starrer movie 'Jilla' is an action thriller directed by R. T. Nesan. Kajal Agarwal is the leading lady. R. B. Choudary produces this flick under the banner Super Good Films.

Goundamani, Mahat Raghavendra, Soori, Poornima Bhagyaraj, Niveda Thomas, Vidyulekha Raman, Brahmanandam, Thambi Ramaiah, Ravi Mariya, and Gautam Kurup are also in the cast.

D. Imman scores music. R. Ganesh wields camera while Praveen K. L and N. B. Srikanth does editing. Mohanlal plays a central character in this movie. He gets a complete makeover for Jilla with a slight white beard and moustache, playing Siva, the landlord of Karakkudi village. Vijay play the role of his adopted son Shakthi in Jilla. The film will tell the story of their bondage. Poornima Bhagyaraj will be seen as the female lead for Mohanlal. She was the female lead in Mohanlal's first film 'Manjil Virinja Pookkal'.

The film is scheduled to hit screens in 2014. The shooting of the film is progressing in Hyderabad. Jilla's story is set in the backdrops of Madurai. Songs are to be shot in foreign locations and the post production works will happen in Chennai.
