KO - Entertaining in parts
Production: RS Infotainment, Red Giant Movies
Direction: K.V. Anand
Star-casts: Jiiva, Ajmal, Karthika, Pia, Prakash Raj, Bose Venkat, Kota Srinivasa Rao and others
Music: Harris Jayaraj
Cinematography: Richard M Nathan

Right from K.V. Anand's debut directorial 'Kana Kanden', the filmmaker has been following the same pattern of screenplay that was very evident with 'Ayan' and now in 'Ko'. In all these films, the protagonist would be a damn-smart chap and will be an outstanding personality in any particular arena. There would a hottie falling in love for his smart and charming looks.
But the biggest twist would come through a traitor, who remains acquainted with him for a long time, but betrays at last. Perhaps, this would be the climax point in all his movies. Wanna illustration? Prithviraj's true colors are revealed during the intermission of 'Kana Kanden' while Jagan in Suriya starrer 'Ayan'. Now with - Oops! Sorry, you'll have to watch over the screens for this surprise element as K.V. Anand has requested not to reveal the climax.
Ashwin (Jiiva) proves to be the smartest photo-journalist working for a reputed newspaper and keeps revealing the bad side of politicians (Prakash Raj and Kota Srinivasa Rao) with his skills. He happens to be come across an aspiring politician Vasanth (Ajmal), who along with his youngsters of political party 'Siragugal' contests in elections. He helps him by publishing his good deeds, which again irks the opposition parties. On a grand youth rally that is hosted by 'Siragugal', a bomb blast kills hundreds of innocent peoples including Ashwinâs close pal Saro (Pia). Broken down in spirits, Vasanth decides to quit politics to keep away from himself and his supporters away from problems. Does Vasanth get back to politics? Will Ashwin find out the real culprits involved in the bomb blast? You'll have to watch them out on screens that have a stunning climax.
Again, taking on the grounds of comparison, K.V. Anand's films always starts off with a stronger momentum with lots of incidents happening, but gradually slugs down post-intermission and gain back the pace during penultimate sequence with an unpredictable climax. 'Ko' strides on the same pattern.
Well, who is bothered to analyze so many things when you're paying more than 100bugs for the ticket? If you're planning up for an entertainer to kill your time, here's 'Ko', a film with so-mentioned attributes with best technical aspects enthralling us.
With an ensemble star-casts â Jeeva, Karthika, Ajmal, Pia, Prakash Raj , Kota Srinivasa Rao and Bose Venkat, it's worth mentioning that K.V. Anand has done a good job over the casting. Everyone have done justice to their role. The songs by Harris Jayaraj, cinematography by Richard M Nathan and editing by Anthony are the biggest plus. Guess who's stealing the show here? It's none other than Ajmal as he overshadows Jeeva himself in many places.
If you have decided to watch a film uncaring about the logics, we prefer you 'Ko' that has some interesting moments, but packaged with a good climax.
VERDICT: Entertainment guaranteed
Rating: 3/5
