Modhi Vilayaadu â For elite audiences
Production: Media One Global Entertainment, Gemini Industries
Direction: Saran
Star-casts: Vinay, Kajol Agarwal, Yuva, Kalabavanmani, Santhanam, Tattoo Ram and many others.
Music: Hariharan-Leslie
Udhay (Vinay) and Madhan (Yuva) are the best friends, living life, enjoying the riches of Udhayaâs father Rajan Vasudev (Kalabavanmani), who is one of the top 50 rich men in the world. Madhan lived with Udhay and Udhayaâs father took care of all Madhanâs expenses.
Both the friends meet L R Eshwari (Kajol Agarwal), a pretty college student and both of them fall in love with her. Udhayaâs father surprisingly supportsof Madhanâs love with L R Eeswari , when strange things begins to happenâ¦. Madhan gets killed. Udhay losses all his wealthâ¦. And Udhay is on the run to save his life.
How does Udhaya find out the hidden secrets in his life??
And does he sort things out???
Director Saran who had touched the mass commercial flicks of B and C centres has opted for a film merely for multiplex audiences. But kindly donât mistake that if a film is shot sleek and stylish, itâs meant only for âAâ class. Of course, the filmâs screenplay has been well-tailored gratifying for all the centres. Although, first half may not be off great likeliness for miniscule audiences with stylish love tale, the latter portions are commercially weaved catering to tastes of B and C.
Vinay looks cute and charming and heâs next to Ajith, when it comes to smart looks. Kajol Agarwal is decent and thank God, she doesnât opt for skin shows. Santhanamâs comedy are more enjoyable, especially the moments in second half where he imitates Arya in Naan Kadavul, Jaiâs Subramaniapuram, Vijayakanthâs Ramana and as a Hollywood actor. Ramesh Khanna and Mayilsamy add furthermore to the humorous portions.
Music shouldâve been yet more interesting and none of the songs are appealing. Cinematography and editing are sleek and neat offering a best look. Someone who has watched all the previous films of Saran may really doubt whether he has made this flick.
On the whole, Modhi Vilaiyaadu is an interesting film with commercial element and right moments that will entertain the audiences. With the duration being kept short for 2.15hrs, the film is worth watching.
Verdict: Commendable film by Saran
