Prakash Raj has started shooting for the remake of hit Tamil film Abhiyum Naanum in Kannada as Naanu Nanna Kanasu.
Director Prakash has earlier planned Divya Spandana who was popular through Pollathavan to play the lead role. This role was essayed by Trisha in the original. Divya attended the Pooja ceremony of Naanu Nanna Kanasu.
All was going well until the day before Divya was set to leave for Coorg, where the first schedule of the movie was supposed to be held when the remuneration problem got up. She was offered 16 lakh by producer which is less than half of her current market value. She opted out of movie and now the producer is saying that they avoided Divya due to her attitudinal problems.
Divya opted out of the flick as she will not compromise on her remuneration as then everyone expect her to do film for that amount and her earlier producers will feel cheated.
The crew has gone ahead with the shoot without Miss Spandana. The makers have found an alternative heroine, Amulya to step into the character.
'When many Kannada film producers are willing to pay more money to Mumbai and Chennai actors, why do they hesitate to pay Kannada heroines who really deserve it,' Divya boils.
