Famous south Indian actress Nayantara has been banned by Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) and the South Indian Film Artists Association (Nadigar Sangam) from acting in Tamil movies.
The decision is based on a complaint from Subash Chandra Bose, producer of the film Paiyya.
Nayantara was supposed to play the female lead role in the film opposite to 'Paruthiveeran' fame Karthi for a whopping remuneration of one crore and recieved an advance of 25 lakh rupees. Later the producer requested her to reduce the remuneration blaming the global financial crisis.
But Nayantara didnt agree for this and that forced producer to remove her from the film replacing her role with Tamannah.
Producer Subash Chandra Bose then approched Tamil Film Producers Council alleging that Nayantara had not returnded the advance paid to her. Then Nayantara was asked to refund the money by the council but nayantara failed to respond within the specified time.
The Tamil Film Producers' Council (TFPC) and the South Indian Artistes' Association (SIAA) finally issued a statement asking producers to refrain from working with Nayantara.
"Talks are on with producers of Malayalam and Telugu producers as well to ban her," said the statement.
