Nootrukku Nooru is the remake of 1971 movie in the same name. Directed by Selva, who is known for remakes, the film is produced by K. Balachander's Kavithalaya.

Vinay Rai of Jayam Kondaan fame, will play the hero's role. Jaishankar played the hero in the original version, while Lakshmi, Srividya, Vijayalalitha and Jayakumari played the heroines. The new Nootrukku Nooru will also have many heroines: Sneha, Sandhya, Neelima, Karthika.

Yesteryear actress Kasthuri, Hema Choudary and Salim Ghouse also appear in prominent roles. Music is composed by D.Imaan.

The story of the old version of Nootrukku Nooru goes on like this: The hero is a college professor, who is accused of sexual nuisance, by three girls. This happens just before hero's marriage. His fiance begins to investigate the accusation with the help of her friends. What she finds out about the motive behind the blame forms the crux of the story.

The film's release is delayed. Let's see if the new version will also become a super hit as its original, directed by K. Balachander himself.
