Pugaipadam is a film directed by Rajesh Lingam who was associate to Director Selvaraghavan. Pugaipadam centers on a group of youngsters, and have backdrop of College. Unlike many films this will not be a romantic masala.

After a gap, music director Gangai Amaran is back scoring music for this film. The film has many debutants in the lead cast. Amjad, Sivam, Harish and Nanda make as heroes in this film. Mrinalini, Priya and Yamini make their debut as heroines.

Venkat, Vinu Chakravarthi and Gnanasambandan do prominent roles.

The trailer launch of the film was held at Satyam Cinemas. Audio and Trailer of the film was released by Bhagyaraj and director Mahendran.

The shooting for the film started in Chennai and shifted to Kodaikanal. Some parts will be shot at Thanjavoor. Cinematography is by Vijay Armstrong and editing is by B Lenin.

Pugaipadam is considered as an innovative title as Kollywood has strict conditions over film names. NC Manikandan produces this movie in the banner of Mayabazaar Cinemas.
