Among Kollywood producers the name Dhanush is synonymous with remakes. Dhanush is now geared up to render the magic of the Telugu blockbuster Ready starring Ram and Genelia into Tamil.

This lucky remake streak of Dhanush began with Yaaradi Nee Mohini the remake of the Telugu hit Adavari Matalaku Arithale Verule and Kutty paired with Shriya Saran; a remake of the Telugu hit Aarya. This flick will star Dhanush and South India's tempting damoiselle Genelia. This is the first time Genelia will share screen with Dhanush.

Ready is the story of a final year engineering student Chandu. One of his friends falls in love with a girl, whose father arranges her marriage with some other guy. So his friends plan to kidnap the bride out of the marriage hall and to get her married to Chandu’s friend. However, Chandu's gang mistakenly rushes into another marriage hall and kidnaps Pooja and eventually the hero falls in love with Pooja. Will they marry or not is one of the biggest questions in film history itself.

This flick is directed by Mitran Jawahar, the director of Yaaradi Nee Mohini and Kutty. Jawahar who is fed up with remakes stated that this will be his last as he hopes to create original scripts with new actors.

Uthama Puthiran is to be made in a gigantic budget, which will be Dhanush’s biggest flick till date. The movie's comedy track will have Bhagyaraj, Vivek and Karunas.

Dhanush is making his debut as a lyricist in this movie.It is also heard that the same film is remade to Hindi with Salman Khan and Asin.
