Republicans spent $150,000 for Palin’s clothes

The Republican Party spent $150,000 (75 lakh Rupees) in last two months for its vice-presidential nominee and Alaska governor Sarah Palinâs clothes for the presidential campaigns.
This controversy is a new headache for the party as this may hurt the sentiments at a time when the country and citizens are in the middle of a big economic crisis. $150,000 is bigger than annual salary of most Americans.
At the same time election expenses are zooming to new record levels. Both parties have spent around $5.3 billion (26,394 crore Rupees) for the presidential campaigns when the country is facing a severe economic crisis !
As per the latest polls Democratic candidate Barack Obama has a clear lead of 12 points over Republican candidate John McCain.
Also some reports say that Republicans bracing themselves for defeat contemplating the prospect of Sarah Palin for 2012 election as presidential candidate.
