Sharath Kumar got a new lease of life after he acted in film Pazhassi Raja with Mammootty. He has also become a star in Kerala with this film. The actor is now doing two new films, Christian Brothers with Mohanlal, Dileep, Suresh Gopi and another flick Oridathoru Postman in which he co stars with Kunchakko Boban. Sharath has gratitude for director Hariharan and scriptwriter M.T. Vasudevan Nair for giving him a role in Pazhassi Raja. He received many special jury awards and Best Actor awards for this film.

This Nadigar Sangam chief while doing an action scene riding a horse for his new Kannada film - Sarathy fell down and was badly injured. The actor is taking rest at his home in Kottivakkam as doctors have advised him complete relaxation for a month. Sarath's KS Selvaraj directed Vidiyal where he is playing a dual role with Sneha as heroine has been postponed due to this.

When Sharath started his career he used to say that he wanted to win an Oscar. People in those days used to laugh at the idea. Now when A R Rahman, Gulzar and Resul Pukkutty got Oscars his dream has got strengthened. Sarath says "They have proved that the world is a small place and cinema can transcend barriers. So, why can't I get an Oscar too? And I'm working hard to reach my goal."

Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and …….. Bollywood
Sarath has done films in all South Indian languages and he is not contented. He started preparing for a project in Bollywood for which shoot will start in July 2010. He will be working with two of the coveted filmmakers from the South. Apart from all these he has got films to act in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. He also has plans to do a film based on Kathakali.

Production Company
Sarath has launched a new production company named RRR. RRR will produce low to medium budget films inside budget of Rs. Three crores though which he plans to launch several new faces. Sarath Kumar will be producing the film on first copy basis for Radharavi, his brother in law and Nadigar Sangam Secretary.

Launching daughter
Sharath's daughter Varalaxmi gained a lot of news value when she signed the film Poda Podi opposite Simbu. But the project didn't take off. But she was flooded with offers now. As she wants her first film to be the best one she is taking her own time to choose her debut. Sharath also has plans to launch his daughter Varalaxmi under his new banner.

Varalaxmi has finished her acting course in Anupam Kher's school. It is heard that Anupam was astonished by her histrionics ability.
