Slumdog Millionaire, which was shot in Mumbai with many Indian actors and technicians, is creating high expectation, in India as it won Golden Globe awards.

The film will be released in India this month. Anil Kapoor, Irfan khan also stars in this film.

A.R Rahman got golden globe award, for music direction done for Slumdog millionaire. This is the first time an Indian get golden globe, even though Devadas and Rang De Basanthi got nominated for it. The award ceremony is telecasted live to over 160 counties.

The reigning king of Bollywood, Indian actor Shahrukh Khan, presented award, at this U.S. award show. He was the first Indian film star to be invited as a presenter.

It’s the story of Jamal, who lives in Mumbai slums, participate in reality show and wins.

It is based on the book Q and A written by Indian author and diplomat Vikas Swaroop. British director Danny Boyle is the director of this film.

Loveleen Tandan was made co-director, who began as the film's casting director.

Slumdog millionaire lost its American distributor soon after it completed filming last year. This modestly budgeted story of an Indian game show contestant now has become not only a powerful Academy Award contender but also a box-office hit.
