Amal Neerad's debut in Tamil as director has Surya Siva Kumar as hero. Earlier the grapevine was Amal is to remake Malayalam movie Mrigaya, which had Mammootty in the lead. But Amal clarified that he has no plans to remake any films.

Amal says that his Tamil movie will have a fresh new story. The film will start rolling by the end of 2010 after Amal completes his movie Anwar with Prithviraj. Actor Suriya also has to complete movies with Ram Gopal Varma and Murugadoss before joining the film with Amal.

Amal Neerad was the former cinematographer of Ram Gopal Varma and has worked with him in James, Shiva and Darna Zaroori Hai. As an independent director, he has done two films Mammootty's Big-B and Mohanlal's Sagar alias Jacky Reloaded. These two films were stylish to the core which carved a niche young audience who loved manly films.

Suriya who was deeply influenced by Amal's style and narration recently came to Kerala to meet the filmmaker. They had a long discussion but have not affirmed on the story.

"I liked Amal as a director; I will definitely work with him in the near future." says Suriya.
