Thalakonam, the upcoming romantic entertainer, is directed by K. Padmaraj. SJS Kumar produces Thalakonam under the banner S J S International. Newcomers Jithesh and Telugu actress Riya are in the leading roles in this movie.

Riya is being introduced in Kollywood through Thalakonam. Camera is by Ramalingam, a former associate of Cinematographer UK Senthilkumar. Saravanan & Shankar handles editing.

Jawahar and Subhash are the music composers. They tuned the lines of Pa. Vijay and Kana Viji. Dance choreography is by Kesavan and Thambi Siva and Stunts are by Fire Karthik. The film is shot in the forests of Thalakonam and Salakudi.

The story of the movie is of a kidnapping. A minister's daughter (Riya) and her friend are being abducted by some people, while they were camping in a forest for NSS activities. Both are from different colleges and assembled for the camp. How they escape from the kidnappers and many decisions taken for their release forms the crux of the story.
