US House passes 40 lakh crore economic package

In a major development US House of Representatives has passed a 40,13,100 crore economic stimulous package to revive the US economy.
This new fund would be used to repair bridges and roads, unemployment benefits, 13.5 lakh crore tax reductions and to renovate schools.
The vote was 244-188, with Republicans unanimous in opposition despite Obama's pleas for bipartisan support. 11 Democrats also voted against it.
Now it must be approved by the US Senate, where it could face stiff opposition as the Democrats have a slimmer majority.
Republicans, expressing concern about the large amount of spending in the bill, and have criticized the tax cut provisions for not going far enough.
