Vikramarkudu is a Telugu movie directed by S.S Rajamouli. It has been a mediocre gainer at the box office when released in 2006.

Vikramarkudu had Raviteja and Anushka in the lead role. Raviteja played dual role for the first time in his career. Vikramarkudu revolves around Athili Sathi Babu, a local thief who is harum-scarum. He falls in love with Neeraja. One day, Athili get shocked when a girl turns up and claims he is her father. After recovering from this stupefying claim, he slowly starts to investigate the truth behind it.

Vikramarkudu got 'A' certified due to its vulgar comedy and violence. For Ravi Teja's performance in the flick, he was widely appreciated. This includes big stars like Chiranjeevi and Dasari Narayana Rao.

Vikramarkudu was earlier dubbed in Malayalam as Vikramathithya.

This film is to be remade in Tamil. The film will star Karthi as the hero and he will be doing double role for the first time. The remake will be directed by Shiva, the director of many action grounded Telugu films like Showryam and Shankam, with Gopichand in the lead role. The flick is to be produced by Studio Green's K Gnanavel Raja; the film will start shooting in March.

In this remake, Karthi will be seen in the role of a police officer and the film will have heaps of commercial elements loaded. Details of remaining cast and crew will be soon made available. Technicians expect the film to fare better than the original version.

Karthi's second film Ayirathil Oruvan was more or less a disappointment. His popularity was affected and the film has done less than ordinary business in Tamilnadu.
