Valmiki is an upcoming Tamil movie starring Kalloori Akil in the lead role. The film will be directed by Anantha Narayanan. The movie will have music by maestro Ilayaraja.

Two Malayali girls, Meera Nandan and Sruthi Nair dons the female lead roles. In Valmiki, Meera plays the role of Vandana who runs a crèche for kids. Shruti Nair plays the role of a flower vendor and her dreams remain dreams.

Akhil feels his role in the film is a challenging one and that it is totally different from the one in Kalloori. It is to be released on June 26, 2009.
