Bhavana Balachandran is a cute South Indian actress. She hails from Thrissur in Kerala. Bhavana's original name is Karthika. She was born in 1985.

Bhavana made her debut in the Malayalam film 'Nammal', directed by Kamal, in 2002. She won many honours and Kerala State Special Jury Award for the same film.

Bhavana has acted with almost all actors of Malayalam film industry including Mammootty, Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi, Dileep, Jayaram, Prithviraj, Kunchacko Boban, and Jayasurya.

Her popular movies in Malayalam include Nammal, Chronic Bachelor, Thilakkam, CID Moosa, Swapnakoodu, Chandupottu, Naran, Chintamani Kolacase, Chess, Chotta Mumbai, and Twenty:20. Her latest movies in Malayalam are Lollipop and Sagar Alias Jacky.

Bhavana's Tamil debut was in the film Chithiram Pesuthadi opposite Narain. She won Filmfare Best Tamil Female Debut Award and Filmfare Best Tamil Actress Award for the same film. She did many Tamil films including Veyil, Deepavali, Koodal Nagar, Arya, Rameswaram, Vaazhthugal, and Jayamkondaan.

Now, Bhavana is a well known face in all the four South Indian language movies, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
